SAMSUNG Electronics' Semiconductor Division prohibits the use of 140 hazardous chemical substances in line with domestic regulations and international treaties to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. When introducing new materials, health risks and safety are reviewed to assess hazardous levels, the possibility of exposure, and physical and chemical characteristics. New materials can only be used after a review has shown full regulatory compliance, and related facilities are prepared in accordance with an advanced assessment system on the possible health, safety and environmental impacts of new chemical substances.

We review not only health impacts on employees, but also possible environmental impacts within the entire life cycle of the substance including the introduction, storage, use, processing, disposal and recycling of each substance. This is one of the many ways that we maintain an environmentally friendly work place.
